Susan Warren Earns State Recognition at YWCA Darien/Norwalk Farewell Party
DARIEN, CT – June 17, 2010 – Susan Warren, the director of Ballet with Susan Warren at the YWCA Darien/Norwalk earned state recognition at her June 16th retirement party that was held at the YWCA Darien/Norwalk Ballet Studio. State Representative Terrie Wood presented Ms.Warren with 2 state proclamations that praised her contributions to the Darien community. Over 100 guests including former students and friends attended the farewell party. The party was hosted by a committee at the YWCA Darien/Norwalk with members including Louise Foerster, Christine Kiggins, Suzanne McCollum, and Inger Vilter. The YWCA Darien/Norwalk also honored Ms. Warren by renaming their ballet studio the Susan Warren Dance Studio. Ms. Warren made the difficult decision to retire after 43 years of teaching ballet at the YWCA. She plans to continue her involvement with organizations in Darien during her retirement. The Darien School of Dance, a new dance program in Darien featuring children’s ballet, tap, jazz as well as adult classes, will be replacing Ballet with Susan Warren at the YWCA Darien/Norwalk.
